HP Printer Memory

Hewlett Packard printers are impressive machines in their own right, incorporating camera compatibility and printing directly from system memory. This has made turning on your computer unnecessary. You can do your entire photo developing in one place and never have to leave your home. Storing all of those pictures requires memory, however, and if you don't have enough already installed you might want to consider getting an upgrade.

If you're using an HP digital camera with your printer, you can transfer your pictures directly to the printer's memory. Then you can choose the pictures you wish to print without having to use your computer to make choices. Depending on the resolution you chose for your pictures, the memory requirements can end up staggering. The memory card on your printer is probably only 16 MB or 32 MB. That might not be enough for your current pictures if you use a memory card in the camera as well.

Printer memory is easy to install and simple to use. Some HP printers use flash memory card technology so you can switch the cards at any time. Onboard memory is a bit more challenging to change because you will need to open the printer, but it is still simple enough to do even if you have no experience upgrading computer equipment.

Printer memory is also very important if you work for a business and need to print large, graphics intensive manuals or documents. Multimedia always eats a lot of memory, so upgrading can speed the printing process because the entire document can be stored at once. A 128 MB printer card can store an impressive amount of data, making it easy to publish several big documents at once. You can also find 128 MB cards for only about $50.
