Pavilion Desktop Memory Upgrades

Hewlett-Packard's Pavilion desktop series are among of the easiest to set up and build from scratch since their website offers onscreen customization. When you are buying a new computer you can choose a design you prefer and add or subtract different components according to your taste. Build your Pavilion with the parts you really want, and scrimp on things that you know you won't use often. You can end up saving hundreds of dollars by customizing your new PC.

Once your PC has aged a bit you might begin to notice slowing or less than optimal performance. This can be a combination of a number of factors. You might have spyware running in the background without your knowledge. More likely, however, your computer is running low on RAM.

Pavilion RAM is simple to buy and install. You can contact either Hewlett-Packard or a third party retailer and find memory modules that are compatible with your system. Find out if your motherboard has enough space for more than one card and upgrade both slots at once. You can get some amazing mileage out of an older system that has plenty of memory to spare.

RAM is the part of your system that stores programs in use. Without RAM your computer would need to continually access information from disk, which would increase load times to unmanageable levels. Using RAM to store open programs allows your disk drives a chance to run adding new information as opposed to retrieving currently in use information.
