Sony Memory

Sony has produced some very competitive computers in recent memory. The Vaio brand is very popular with consumers, and these computers are made with a lot of power right from the start. The good thing about Vaio computers is their upgradeability, which comes in handy when your rig is just shy of your expectations.

When you are buying your Sony computer you can choose your options as you customize the design you want. Something people often overlook is the importance of system memory. Buy as much as you can afford up front because it will save you from having to upgrade in the future. If your computer is a few years old but you are not ready to buy a new one, upgrading your RAM should be your first choice.

Sony memory options are extensive as these systems can use a number of different cards. Both desktops and laptops have a number of great memory card options, and you can choose how much memory you need because of the variety. The best idea is to get as much memory as you can afford, however, because it will speed your computer up significantly more than smaller cards will. If your system has 128 MB to 256 MB then you should swap out that card for a 512 MB card or better.

Sony memory cards range in price from $25 for 32 MB and 64 MB models up to $200 for 1 GB designs. A good tip is to try to install two smaller cards at once instead of buying a single large card. This is to help you save money in the future should one card fail. Buying two 512 MB cards is also more cost efficient up front saving you about $50 total. Then if one card fails later, you've only got to spend an additional $100 or less as the price of memory continues to fall.
